Best Stain for Exotic IPE Wood

IPE Wood stains in the past typically only last 6-12 months. This is due to the extreme density of the IPE wood. It is so dense the wood stains cannot penetrate into the wood very well. This cause the stain to fail faster then normal. Fortunately the Arnstrong Clark Mahogany stain will last longer then a year.

Here is a picture in the Arizona sun. Top half is Armstrong Clark Mahogany Stain and the bottom is Cabot ATO Mahogany Flame:

Here is a picture after 14 months in the Arizona sun. As you can see the Armstrong Clark Mahogany Stain easily outperformed the Cabot ATO Mahogany Flame:
